837 DR
Research Diary #34, Myrtis
Finally, I can study in peace! This mountaintop is perfect, much better than those noisy woods with all the forest critters running and chirping around. I’ll build a grand temple here for my goddess, and hopefully she’ll reward me with a new muse for my research, or maybe just a good old fashioned stroke of luck, or that divine enlightenment the ancients texts are always going on about! Never mind that, I know I shouldn’t expect anything from her, that’s not why we worship after all. Still, I can’t help but feel like all my work could be so much more efficient if I had just had some more power…
Myrtis built the Monastery of Eldath sometime around 837 DR, both as place of worship and science. She soon began to take apprentices, and as the monastery developed and grew, she became a legend to the future generations of monks, known only to them as the First Master.
