Description
”Don’t believe everything people tell you. Stronger than Mithril? Harder than diamonds? Yeah sure. Trust me, there is no such thing as Blacksteel.” Unknown
Blacksteel is a legendary alloy created by mixing Blackstone and Adamant. Furthermore, the only known way to create Blacksteel is to use a magical furnace powered by a sacred flame to smelt the ore, and to temper the resulting ingot in a holy water. This however, has never been reproduced.
DM Note
The first, and as of yet only occurrence of Blacksteel ever being produced was by the Lich Myrtis, in 1481 DR, in her secret workshop below Castle Blackwater.
Usage
Blacksteel is an incredibly strong, yet flexible metal. Its true strength, though, lies in the power of the Blackstone used to create it. Not only can it hold and expel tremendous amounts of energy like Blackstone, it can also be used to sap energy, and add it to its own reserves. This is best done by forging the steel into a magical weapon. When used this way, the Blacksteel weapon’s storage capacity depends on its user.
