Description

C-QCO_13Y, or CQ, is a warforged assassin turned adventurer. He fights using retractable blades merged with his arms, as well as tools such as throwing darts, bombs, poisons, and oils.

C-QCO_13Y is CQ’s serial number. C-QCO stands for “Close-Quarters Covert Operative”. C-QCO_13Y is a metal shell that is being powered by a magic core, and operated by a magical processing unit residing in its head. The shell can repair itself by drawing power from the core, which can in turn receive a burst of power from healing spells, potions, and the like.

Background

CQ is a machine built for the sole purpose of locating and killing whomever its current handler orders it to. While his original creator is unknown, he was sold to a drow assassin’s guild and obeyed his handler there for 2.5 years, going on countless missions and killing hundreds of targets, before sustaining a critical injury that damaged his processing unit on a mission one day. Upon being damaged, CQ’s systems launched an emergency protocol putting him in lockdown. His body shut off, and he remained there, effectively unconscious.

Some years later, an adventurer scavenging in the area encountered his disguised body, and cast a healing spell, thinking he was an injured villager. This jumpstarted CQ’s magic core and brought him back to life, healing his shell enough for him to be able to function. However, the damage he sustained permanently destroyed his authority module, leaving him as an autonomous entity. Having spent his entire ‘life’ up to this point as an emotionless machine, CQ is now trying to develop his own personality by becoming an adventurer and doing what he does best.

Relationships

  • CQ met Gof early on his adventuring career, and they’ve since become friends. They adventured together until Gof met The Party.
